Corporate Training Partnerships - Transforming Talent
This 5 day residential foundation course will provide new managers with a set of tools they will use for the rest of their working life. This introduction to managementcourse highlights the changes individuals need to make as they move to a position of management. They will understand different management and leadership styles and when and how to use them, how to motivate people and delegates responsibly. The course also covers planning and setting clear goals and objectives.
Who should attend?
If you have existing management responsibility, are looking to move into a middle management position, in particular strategic and project management roles, then this course is for you.
Training Approach
This is a participative course relating to important leadership issues using examples from your current role. A variety of learning methods are used including discussion, where you'll be encouraged to share, reflect and review current work practices/ experiences; role pay; quizzes; group brain storming and you'll work with case studies.
Group size is kept to a maximum of 12 to facilitate sharing of experience amongst the delegates
Programme Outline
Day 1

Participants will create a personal goal plan, and understand the importance of goal setting

Develop skills to diagnose and apply the correct leadership style for individual development

Develop delegation skills
Day 2

Enable managers to conduct effective 1 to 1 meeti

Develop existing coaching skills to enable teams to improve and achieve

Adopt effective strategies to identify and address training and development needs
Day 3

Demonstrate the ability to observe, assess and record information obtained through on the job observation

Apply existing feedback skills to the leadership role
Day 4

Understand the content, purpose and structure of an effective team meeting

Identify and utilise appropriate skills and strategies to ensure competency in the role including time management, project
management principles and identification of key result areas
Day 5

Adopt a simple process for planning and managing their business including business plan construction, outlining a training plan, and
presenting plans to senior
