Talking with people or more formally 'interviewing' them has long been recognised as a core function for professionals in Compliance, Investigations, Fraud, AML, Audit and other Risk functions. Every fact-finding assignment and investigation relies heavily on investigative interviewing. In a typical investigation, it is thought up to 85% of all information is acquired in this way. It follows that the time and effort spent on improving the interview by planning ahead and using tried and tested techniques to reach valid, supported outcomes will be worthwhile.
This 2-day Investigative Interrviewing course is based upon the PEACE model used by police forces and other fraud investigation agencies. You will work through the theory and practice of interviewing using case studies designed to reflect typical situations you encounter.
The mnemonic PEACE stands for:
Planning and preparation
Engage and explain
Account
Closure
Evaluation
