Course Outline

Really enjoyable, all modules. Very useful & informative. Managers could only gain by attending”  Jayne Williams

“Coming out of the business helps to identify some of the changes you can make and also makes you think about ways of adapting your own management style”  Oliver Young

“Very good trainer- he obviously knew his stuff and facilitated some good discussions.”  Gilbert Collington

“Mix between practical exercises ie chess game & rollerball & stacking exercise were fun and also a good way of getting learning points out”
Douglas Cox

Management has historically been focused on ‘getting things done’, whilst leadership traditionally has been the preserve of executives at the top of the organisation. Managers have been the layers between the decision makers and those whose role is to complete tasks and meet established goals.
Forward-looking businesses are increasingly recognising that this model is less effective; removal of layers of management has left organisations leaner, operating in flatter structures. With rising levels of customer expectation about service delivery and ever-increasing competitive pressures, there is an imperative for smarter decision taking, driven by the need to look for continuous improvement.
Business leaders now recognise that managers throughout their organisation require proper preparation to make the transition from traditional management thinking to understanding how they can contribute directly to improved business performance through the application of sound, 21st Century leadership principles.
This course will enable delegates to explore these emerging principles, develop their understanding through a range of practical and challenging discussions, case studies and exercises, and identify ways to apply them to real business issues which they currently face.
This tried and tested Programme combines 3 subject areas over two, two-day workshops, developing concepts incrementally throughout. We recommend that the two days be separated by four to six weeks to allow delegates to put their ideas into practice and feedback on the results during the interim period.
