Course Overview & Objectives
This workshop is designed for those who are new to the handling of motor third party claims. The focus of the course will be to understand the overall claims handling process for third party claims and the legal principles in establishing liability. The course will focus on establishing liability and the quantification of property damage claims.
Attending this course will enable you to:
- Understand the benefits of the claims service to key stakeholders
- Apply the principles of insurance to third party claims
Assess liability for motor accidents

Course Leader: Beverley Lyn MBA FCII
Beverley has over 25 years’ experience in the UK General Insurance Industry. Initially starting work in an Insurance Broker, she then moved into the general insurance market and followed a technical claims career path with Zurich and Independent. More recently she worked for AXA insurance in senior claims roles where she was responsible for the development of its Training Academies. Beverley combines her strong technical knowledge with a passion for developing people to deliver a learner centred, interactive and practical workshop. Beverley owns her own business providing consultancy, training and coaching services to a number of organisations, including insurers, brokers, training firms and the Chartered Insurance Institute, for whom she has authored elements of the CII syllabus.
