Course Outline A really valuable 1-day course that provides the skills and practice to make the appraisal process work for all parties. Delegates can learn how to eliminate pointless vague discussion and make the process worthwhile. Delegates will be shown how to constructively talk about negative appraisals appropriately as well as positive appraisals, to encourage the member of staff to discuss how they feel they are coping with their responsibilities, and how together you can suggest ideas on how to set target for the next appraisal.
Who should attend? Anyone responsible for assessing the performance of others in the organisation Anyone who would like to improve their technique when giving appraisals
How delegates will benefit
By the end of the workshop delegates will be able to: - Identify elements of performance management they need to implement, to enhance performance Develop and implement measurement systems to ensure performance is measured on fact rather than perception Understand the annual appraisal process, including interim meetings and the yearly appraisal format Deal constructively with under-performance Training Approach This workshop is uses a combination of trainer input, knowledge sharing with interactive syndicate work and case studies
Group size is kept to a maximum of 12 to facilitate sharing of experience amongst the delegates
Workshop leader: Julia Kirkland
With 20 years experience in the investment management arena Julia is a confident trainer with an enthusiastic and engaging style. Her understanding of the practical application of skills allows her to deliver meaningful training tailored specifically to those attending. She is an accredited trainer for the Securities Institute and has recently been engaged in consultancy work to review and revise Training & Competency Schemes.
She provides bespoke training design and delivery and brings her practical experience of managing teams in Mutual Fund Dealing, Client Services and PEP Administration to bear in illustrating the ways in which learning can be applied in the workplace.
Julia is a passionate believer in the key to motivate staff is providing them with an understanding of the environment in which they complete day-to-day activities. This only comes from highly energised courses, which contain practical application.
