Retail Distribution Review

The RDR section of our website provides a summary of the services we offer to help all

sectors of financial services make the changes needed to comply with the FSA's proposals
and planned new rules as we move into the Retail Distribution Implementation Plan (RDIP). We are experts in this topic and our people bring their experience of re-modelling people policies, T&C schemes and sales and service training to ensure your new approaches work.

The obvious issue is how to meet new, higher professional standards for those currently engaged in traditional investment advice roles but the impact of the new distribution models will have far reaching effects.  The range of services we can provide help to supplement scarce internal resources with expert consultancy, training design and delivery.

Now is the time to consider:-

How to achieve the higher professional standards We offer revision courses for the three main Institutes, the CII, IFS and SII. Our consultants hold the qualifications they train and many deliver the Institutes' courses. The difference we bring is the flexibility to run these in house, over 1 or 2 days depending on the needs of you and your people. Ask us to give you a quotation.
Commission an independent review of your current T&C scheme We can assess the effectiveness of your T&C arrangements and the gaps to be addressed to support the new standards. As the FSA develops the idea of more formal and independently assessed CPD programmes we can undertake assessments for you and identify the key elements your programme should contain to reflect technical knowledge as well as your internal policies and procedures.
Establish the competence standards you need to measure going forward Competence is not just about examinations. At least as important are the knowledge and skills you need people to be aware of, for example they need to know your internal policies for undertaking the role that they must follow, the features and benefits of the products and services you provide and, last but by no means least, the skills to deliver the performance you are looking for. As change takes place we can help you to create the right competence frameworks
Create new role profiles, frameworks and induction programmes  for new roles Building these frameworks to deliver the business benefits and clear benchmark standards that everyone understands is our speciality. We can bring to bear considerable experience in overcoming common pitfalls and providing workable processes that stand the test of time.
