Course Outline & Objectives

Asset/Fund Managers, need to ensure funds or segregated mandates are set up and launched in a very organised way so there are no gaps in processes or systems and teams can manage and operate the fund/account efficiently. With many products to choose from, the ever wider range of asset classes allowed and the challenges presented by developing regulation, good structure and planning is key.

This focused workshop will provide delegates with a good understanding of fund/product planning, project management initiation, system setup, operational process setup, legal contractual arrangements, and other fund literature required for the setup and launch of a new fund. The course will also address IT, Compliance, Marketing, Client Reporting and Investment Risk policies and processes that need to be put in place. 

The course will give practical answers to key challenges such as:

  1. Sales activity and information flow 
  2. How to approach the project initiation
  3. Working with Legal teams to initiate scheme documentation
  4. Engaging IT and Operations to manage their tasks
  5. Managing relations with Custodian and Depositary for market/account setup
  6. Developing Fund Literature - KIID and Factsheet setup
  7. Working with Compliance for limit monitoring setup
  8. Stakeholder meetings, including content
