Outline & Objectives

There is an increased expectation on all organisations to consider their environmental, social and governance (ESG) impact. In the finanical services industry, Diversity and inclusion (D&I) has moved high up the regulatory agenda in recent years and is more than a passing 'hot topic': firms and the individuals within them can expect this to be a permanent area of focus.

Although often perceived as the concern of a specific department, such as HR,  in reality D&I is a ‘red thread’ reflected throughout an organisation. Many individuals experience the effect of developments in this space before they have had an opportunity to understand them.

This Introduction to Diversity and Inclusion programme is designed to:

  • Explain the statutory and regulatory context of diversity and inclusion and the expectations and importance of a diverse and inclusive workplace
  • Examine the elements of diversity and inclusion and explore some of the challenges faced by organisations and individuals in establshing them
  • Provide insights into the key considerations when devising a D&I strategy at a team or broader level

Who will benefit?

This programme is designed to provide an introduction to diversity and inclusion for those who are less familiar with this area. It aims to develop a practical understanding and context for managers, team leaders and operations professionals in FCA and dual regulated firms who are relatively limited in this area and seeking to develop their knowledge.

Training Approach

This programme is based around three complementary modules, comprised of a combination of in-session theory and discussion with additional post-session coaching and self-reflection exercises. The workshops are specfiically designed for remote delivery.
